ICC 700-2008 was approved by ANSI in January 2009. The standard is based on the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines, developed in 2004. It may be adopted by local green home building programs or local building departments as a conformance guide.

The chart at right summarizes the framework of the ANSI ICC 700-2008 standard. There are between 45 and 146 points required in the Resource Efficiency category. As you’ll see, engineered wood products can contribute to a number of these points.

The bottom portion of this chart (see TOTALS) shows the point ranges for each of the four levels of ANSI ICC 700-2008 certification. Above that, is a summary of the minimum number of points required in each section of the standard.
