Boise Building Materials Distribution (BBMD), a business unit of Boise Cascade, LLC, today announced the opening of a new, wholesale building materials distribution center in Milton, Florida, to serve retail customers along the Gulf Coast from approximately Tallahassee to New Orleans.
Construction of the new facility near Pensacola began in October 2006. The new 80,000-square-foot-facility was built on a 27-acre, rail-served site in Milton, near Pensacola, which is served by major truck corridors, including Interstate 10.
"It's a strong market, particularly considering all the rebuilding needed after Hurricane Katrina and all the development being done in the Florida panhandle," said Ken Ponsell, branch manager. "We are currently stocking and staffing our facility to meet the needs of all our customers in the trade area."
