Stock Building Supply, the Raleigh, N.C.-based pro dealer, has acquired Coleman Floor.
Coleman sells and installs residential flooring products to production residential home builders throughout the eastern United States and Chicago. Its product line includes carpet, vinyl, wood, laminates and ceramic tile. In 2005 Coleman recorded sales of $233.5 million.
"Coleman has a proven management team that has historically produced exceptional operating results and has developed a loyal customer base with its focus on providing superior customer service," said Fenton Hord, Stock president and CEO. "Coleman will add yet another line to our growing offering of installed products."
Founded in 1947 in Chicago, Coleman expanded into Virginia and south Florida in the 1970s and into North Carolina in 1996. Coleman presently operates 23 locations.
The acquisition of Coleman adds 791 associates to the Stock. All senior management, including president Tim Coleman, will remain with the company, Stock said.
Stock now operates 307 locations in 33 states, with reported sales of $4.1 billion for the fiscal year 2005. The pro dealer is a subsidiary of Wolseley plc, based in Theale, England.
